About
Samphire
The perfect seaside cottage, imagine fishing boats bobbing by, ice cream coloured cottages and you have imagined the unspoilt village of Cawsand/Kingsand. Samphire is nestled right in the middle with far reaching views across the bay, ideal for those who love to be close to the sea. The open plan living accommodation on the ground floor, is warmed by the glow of the wood burning stove. To the rear there is a pretty galley style kitchen. On the first floor is a spacious twin bedroom enjoying fine sea views, as well as a shower room with WC. Walking through the shower room will bring you to a single bedroom and so this property can offer flexible sleeping arrangements for four guests. On the second floor is the wonderfully light and bright master bedroom with glorious dual aspect sea views - even a bathtub with a view! There is also a separate WC on this level. The village itself is in the heart of an area of natural outstanding beauty. The coastal path runs through the village, taking you to secret coves and stunning scenery, including the 800 acre Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, with its restored mansion and Grade 1 listed gardens and the rugged Rame Head Peninsula. Whitsand Bay is just a 10 minute drive, with its dramatic scenery and long stretches of sandy beaches. There is a ferry service in the summer from Cawsand beach to Plymouth Hoe where you will find Smeaton's Tower, open to the public all year round and offering a wonderful vantage point from its lantern room. With lots to do at any time of year, you will definitely want to come back.
