About
Chandos Cottage
Chandos Cottage is a delightful and charming Cornish cottage, dating back to 1855. We love the area, for its people as much as the beautiful location, which is set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Millbrook is an unpretentious and laid-back village with a strong community spirit.
From the moment you step inside the cottage, we want Chandos to feel like a home from home. A place where you can instantly relax and start to enjoy your holiday. The cottage has a spacious, yet homely feel to it. Wi-Fi is available and some rooms have an electric socket with a USB ports.
The dining room is a great social space in which to gather around the large farmhouse table. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction cooker, double oven and microwave. The pantry is stocked with many cooking basics to help your stay be an easy one.
Across the central hall is the cosy living room, in which to unwind and relax. There is a new smart television and comfy sofas to sink into, should you want to while away the evening.
Upstairs, off the landing, is the family bathroom, with a shower over the bath. The bathroom is light and airy. A few more stairs and you find two spacious bedrooms, with built in wardrobes and chest of drawers. The beds are both King-size. These bedrooms flank the middle bedroom, which has 2 single beds, storage shelves and a shared bedside cabinet.
The back garden is mainly laid to grass, is fully fenced and has 2 terraces.
The village has pretty much everything you could need for a holiday stay, a local pharmacy, 3 pubs (some often hosting local live music), 2 local supermarkets, a fabulous independent fruit and veg shop, a newsagent which stocks the most unlikely things, a very good fish and chip and shop and a couple of cafes (one of which, The Honey Room Café, is vegetarian / vegan).
Nestled in a pretty little inlet, Millbrook is only minutes away from stunning coast line, beautiful, clean beaches and a myriad of walking and cycling opportunities. Nearby are the popular tourist towns of Kingsand and Cawsand, boasting many pubs, a lovely bakery/cafe and various water sports activities for young and old alike.
Plymouth is within easy reach, using the Cremyll ferry as a pedestrian or approximately a 40 minute car journey using the Torpoint ferry. You can park up for the day, and catch the pedestrian ferry. The nearby Edgecumbe Estate is a great place to walk amongst nature and enjoy fantastic views over the water towards Plymouth and some Cornwall coast.
For those not travelling by car, the village is accessible by coach or train to Plymouth and then bus or taxi to Millbrook. Alternatively, you can catch a train to nearby St Germans (approximately a 20 minute drive).
