Polhawn Cottage B&B
Welcome to Polhawn Cottage Bed & Breakfast
Situated in “Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner” Polhawn Cottage nestles on the cliff top above PolhawnCove with simply stunning views across Whitsand Bay to Looe Island and Gribben Head beyond. On a summer’s day it is not difficult to imagine you are looking over the Adriatic or Caribbean Sea!!! This area of Cornwall is superb for walking, fishing, sailing, golfing or just enjoying the beach. The twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are a five-minute drive away where you will find a Village store, Post Office and Gift shops. Located in the villages are one Tea Room, a cafe and four local pubs serving a variety of good food? Should you choose not to drive you can join the Cornish Coastal path and walk to the village via Rame Head and Penlee Point.
The cottage, which sits on the cliff next to Polhawn Fort, is well placed to visit the smuggling and fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. We are also only an hour away from The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, two jewels in Cornwall’s crown. During the summer months a foot ferry runs from the beach in Cawsand to the Barbican steps in Plymouth where you will find 300 years of history to explore as well as a large shopping centre, theatre and cinema complex and many other attractions.
The gardens which face South West lay to the seaward side and consist of a large gravelled sun terrace with steps down to the lawn both of which our guests are welcome to use. Please note that we have one black cat who is extremely affectionate and who will enjoy your stay. A recent edition to our menagerie is a Tibetan Terrier puppy born on the 6th of November 2013, a real live wire!
