The Halfway House Pub & Kitchen is a local village pub based in the heart of Polbathic, serving the finest fresh, locally sourced food, quality real ales and wines from around the world. Set in the Cornish countryside along the river Lynher and short distance from the beaches of Whitsand Bay, the Halfway House is the perfect place for you to visit. We aim to deliver fantastic customer service to ensure that everybody feels welcome and enjoys their time with us. We have roaring open fires, live bands, a community public micro-library, separate bar, beer garden, summer ale, cider and pie festival, rooms, restaurant, function room, free Wi-Fi and dogs are welcome!
The Bar Side
Eat, drink, dance and watch live acts in the bar side. We have a wide range of wines that can be viewed on our wine list page. Enjoy our local real ales from the likes of St. Austell, Dartmoor, Skinners and many more breweries and we are now included in the national 2019 good beer guide.
Our kitchen is open between 12pm - 2:30pm and then again from 6pm - 9:30pm however we don't take reservations for the bar so its free for anyone. Dogs are welcome in the bar too and Wi-Fi is free to our customers. Follow us on social media for up coming live music and events.
The Restaurant
Eat anywhere you like inside or out. Our ethos is to deliver the best pub food Cornwall has to offer and still keep things humble and proper. All our food is sourced as locally as possible and we proudly grow our own organic vegetables in our beer garden. The newly added Long-room seats up to 30 and is available as a party or function room as well as an add on to the main restaurant.

Our community micro-library is run through Cornwall Council, everyone can sign up from our in-house computer and then instantly rent out a book. Books can be preordered online and with us within 3 weeks. Come have a glass or coffee, read and relax
